Why Odoo

Strong retail software. Flexible deployment choices.

Satellite POS is built on Odoo so the system can grow beyond the till. That gives retailers a more durable foundation for operations, inventory, visibility, and future expansion.

Flexible till setups

We can shape the deployment around the store, from a lighter online rollout to a more capable in-store setup with multiple till points.

More than checkout

The platform gives room for stock, reporting, purchasing, and operational workflows instead of trapping the business in a narrow POS-only product.

Better fit for growth

A store can start with the cloud layer, add analytics as management needs improve, and adopt local hardware when reliability becomes more critical.

Practical architecture

The product story is not just software branding. It is designed around how South African retail actually runs, including connectivity pressure and remote oversight.

Rollout Path

Start simple. Expand when the store is ready.

The offer should feel approachable from day one, while still giving a business a credible path into a stronger operating system over time.

1

Start with Cloud

Launch quickly with a hosted Odoo POS setup and get the team trading without a large upfront hardware commitment.

2

Add Analytics

Layer in stronger stocktaking, revenue visibility, and stock movement insight as operational maturity increases.

3

Deploy the Box

Move into a resilient in-store edge setup when you need stronger local performance, remote access, and store-side reliability.

Deploy the server your way

Consolidated hardware setups for any store.

Whether you are running a single checkout line or multiple roaming floor staff, the local server handles it.

Single Till Bundle

The Server Box built right into the main counter with a scanner, cash drawer, and receipt printer. You just add your preferred screen.

Multi-Till Backoffice

The Server Box sits securely in the back office, while your checkout staff run the actual tills on affordable, wireless Android tablets.

Proven in Production

Not just a concept. Already working in a live store.

The strongest part of this story is that the model has already worked in the field under real South African retail conditions.

Remote retail case study

From manual trust and phone calls to a remotely visible retail operation.

A rural liquor store needed a modern POS and inventory system, but the owner lived and worked 200km away. The environment demanded something affordable, remotely accessible, and able to keep working even when the internet dropped.

The live version now runs from a repurposed Dell Optiplex with an i3 second-generation processor, keyboard, mouse, screen, and no receipt printer yet. It has been running in production for the past six months, proving the model before the more productized Satellite POS Box direction is finalized.

Store-side resilience

Odoo was deployed locally so the point of sale could continue operating during internet outages instead of stopping the store.

Remote access

Secure remote access allowed the owner to log in from far away and keep visibility over what was happening in the store.

Analytics layer

A custom analytics app was added for stock movement analysis, automated stocktaking workflows, and clearer revenue visibility.

Backup path

Database backups were automated so the store had off-site redundancy whenever connectivity was available.

Next step

Position the offer simply. Sell the right setup for each store.

We can treat the mini price as the entry point, then keep hardware, peripherals, support, and rollout depth configurable based on the business and the store environment.
